hey so im back bitches...

anyway it’s been a minute.. a whole year actually. i feel as tho i gotta catch u up on what i been into all this time. i havent been keeping track of the media ive been comsuming really but ima just list some stuff off the top and assume everything important enough to talk about will come to mind.

Videogames:
This year has been a huge gaming year for me. i love videogames soo much. i wish so badly i had more time to play.

Animal Well (2024): ok so picking up where we left off. in my september media last year i said i was just starting animal well. WELL. lets just say any moment of free time i had in october went to playing this game. it is one of my favorite games ive ever played. i think its best to not know much going into it so im not tryna say too much ok but if you’re a fan of mystery + wonder (+puzzles) i think youll enjoy. one of my favorite things about it is how even tho its relatively simple in it’s design and mechanics etc. its still super creative. spending time in this world was so awesome to me.

Hollow Knight (2017):
ok so back in uhh may i think? i got into hollow knight finally. i remember i tried to play it at some point last year. played for prob 20 minutes and then yeah didnt pick it back up again until may this year i guess. anyway. another one of my favorite games ever. i never woulda thought. i thought i didnt like combat games. or at least when theres combat in games ive played (and specifically boss battles) i just dont care about em. like i never rly enjoyed that part of it. hollow knight changed that for me. i get it now. u know? its sick. i think the metroidvania aspect also just works for me. i like when games make me think a lil more, and even tho hollow knight doesnt rly have puzzles it still gets my brain gears spinning. ive spent hours now listening to hollow knight lore videos. its rly turned into a comfort game for me. i love the world so much. i initially thought i’d stop playin after beating the hollow knight like my goal was to just finish the base game. well i did that and more and i had the game at 80% complete. i thought id be ok with that bc im not someone who feels the need to 100% everything but i missed the world. so i got 100%. and there’s more and i’ll prob do it at some point but now im mostly just soo hype for silk song omg. they finally announced the release date is septemeber 4th!!!

I Am Your Beast:
this game rocks. it reminds me of one of my other favorite games, neon white, which ive discussed here before. rly fast paced, fun mechanics. kinda parkour speedy style. each level is like kill all the bad guys as fast as you can and ye u get creative with it. it’s dope and it’s cheap and indie and you should try it. its by the devs strange scaffhold. they also made clickholding, space warlord organ trading simulator, and an airport for aliens currently run by dogs, to name a few-- i havent played those yet but im really lookin forward to it. i just think theyre super cool.

Undertale:
uh yeah i finally freaking played this game. its beautiful and heartfelt and everything else youve heard. my boyfriend got me a ps vita 2000 for my bday this year (back in march) and can i just say its amazing. it sucks more games werent made for it. like its type peak gaming if you ask me. im totally sidetracking now but i recently watched this video about pocketable consols vs. portable consols and uh yeah very much agreeing with this guys takes i have to say. ANYWAY. yeah undertale is awesome. theres prob like one million videos u could watch thatll say it better than me but again, like animal well and prob even moreso, undertale’s simplicity really shows like the beauty of what gaming can be and that you really dont need hyperrealism and fancy mechanics and animations to make a quality, meaningful game. yeah

Fez:
another game i got on my vita. the indie darling, FEZ. ik there’s some bad aura around this game bc of the dev phil fish. i actually more recently watched indie games the movie. and yeah i missed the whole gamergate fiasco and honestly dont know many of the details with any of it but uh yeah he doesn’t come off so great in the movie, i’ll say that. especially compared to the super meat boy boys-- like fr. i was tryna give mr. fish the benefit of the doubt the whole time like, i understand where he’s coming from to an extent, as someone who also makes things but still. yeah not great. that aside tho... fez is really freaking cool. obviously the 2D/3D thing is like soo sick. the art style is rly just my cup of tea as well. and exploring the world and figuring out the puzzles is super fun and satisfying. i did have to cheat a lil bc apparently some of the puzzles depended on vibrations, which is something the vita cannot do so i had to get a lil online help. but still. i love when games crack open my brain and show me something i havent seen before.

Tearaway:
soo prior to getting my vita i had never even heard of Tearaway and idk that kinda crazy to me. im a huge LBP head (little big planet-head, doy) and yeah i just think if ur into lbp u will also love this game. i guess it only ever came out on vita so that’s prob a big contributing factor but still. its also the same dev as LBP, Media Molecule. Mm. ok wait it looks like an extended remake of tearawat was made for PS4... anyway. its super sick. really makes use of the vita’s specific capabilities. like the back of the console is actually a touch pad. its cool but also its a lil annoying to use (sometimes!) if im being totally honest. but like i really appreciate the creativity a lot. little big planet’s vita game also incorporates this kinda thing. tearaway’s world is made of paper and it all looks so sick. there’s also this cool mechanic where, for instance, a character will be like “i lost my mustache, can u make me a new one pls?!” and then u go into this like crafting mode where u pick a paper color and then draw the shape u wanna cut out, in this case, a mustache, and then it becomes like a sticker you can use. one thing bout media molecule.. they love stickers ok.

SoundShapes:
this is another game i never heard of before i actually got my vita. its a dope lil music themed side scroll 2d platformer. its like obstacles/enemies/collectables u run into make different sounds and then as you move thru the level u make a song. its sweet. ive never played anything with a concept like this. its also available on ps3 and ps4 if youre interested. you can also make your own levels/songs.

Papers, Please:
this is a classic. pretty addicting lil game honestly. i first played on my pc last year but got more into it on my vita this year. if u dont know, basically ur character is a boarder patrol person who is also very poor and has a family to take care of. u decide who is allowed into ur country and who isnt based on their paperwork and certain guidelines that are assigned. you can use your discretion, perhaps you take some bribes-- ur family at home is cold and sick, afterall not to mention ur government seems to be corrupt... but it can be risky. anyway there’s maddd different endings and i think ive only gotten like 4 or 5. but yeah thought provoking game to say the least.

Movies:

i honestly can barely think of any movies i’ve seen this year, let alone ones i acutally wanna talk about.

28 Years Later (2025): i liked it. im a fan of 28 days later. and yeah i enjoyed this sequel. there were totally parts where i was feelin very like wtf???? but i think that was also kinda the point. i think my most favorite part was the very end of the movie which makes me pretty excited for the next film in the franchise.

Weapons (2025):
yeah i just saw this the other day so its kinda top of mind. but tbh i dont rly know how i feel about this one yet. im still kinda letting it sink in. my initial feelings are that its like a quality movie? like i dont think it was bad. haha. what a general thing to say... but yeah, im not sure how i feel beyond that at the moment. it was fun to watch at least. which is a lot of what i want from a horror movie so.

TV:

Dexter (2004-2010):i rewatched this whole show. i like rewatching show idk. the first season of dexter is really sooo good. it slowly goes down hill from there i think, but also how could it not? since the first season is so good. and by the last couple seasons its just a hot mess and i hate dexter.

Dexter: Original Sin:
ok this is the prequel show. overall it was alright. i think i watched it just cuz type shit. it was interesting delving a lil more into dexter’s past and they did a good job casting for the younger versions of the characters so that was fun to see.

Dexter: Resurrection:
ok so this one im really enjoying. its still airing now but we’re nearing the end. having a lot of fun watching. i think it’s better than New Blood too.

Twisted Metal:
ok ik ive been talkin a lot about fun but like this show is FUN. i think it just does a great job of like balancing serious + heartfelt + silly + violence. i never rly played the games ive just seen some videos but from what i’ve seen i think they really like capture the essence of the game and also like retro gaming in general somehow? i guess i dont rly know fr tbh but there’s just somethin about this show....... i love it.

Music:

so i didnt include music in my previous media posts because it just felt overwhelming tbh. i also thought i was gonna make a playlist n stuff but yeah i never actually did that. idk music has become more personal to me in a way where i dont rly feel like sharing most of the time. i promise im not gatekeeping i dont even listen to stuff thats that obscure anymore. its also much less of a hobby than it used to be for me and idk i just dont feel like i have much to add... like i dont need to put u on to fall out boy, u definitely already know fall out boy probably??

anyway yeah i been listening to madd fall out boy, my chem, and paramore. my personal trifecta. i’ll never get tired of this shit idk. i will also share a playlist of some of the other stuff i’ve been listening to i guess. i dont have spotify or apple music i just have youtube. so itll be a youtube playlist. dont judge me too hard im not much of a music nerd these days im just random and chill and having fun and not serious and enjoy.

Books:

mostly toy stuff. like books and magazines relating to toys, i mean.
