Hel Looks

just wanted to share some style inspo from a cool & iconic lil archive called hel looks. street style from helsinki starting from 2005.

the photos below are from 2005-2009. i love this era of fashion. also just thinking about this era and how fashion interacted with the internet. like, of course, personal style had been a thing for a long time, but i feel like internet culture and myspace and profile customization really took personal style to new levels. i never had a myspace page, i feel like myspace as a platform was less popular by the time i was old enough. but omg how i yearn for profile customization like that. my first social media was facebook. so blah. anyway my personal style has leaned alternative pretty much since i started dressing myself when i was a kid. i remember the first time i changed my physical appearance being a huge deal to me. my dad helped me dye a streak of my hair red when i was in 7th grade. it was a compromise (my mom was not down) but it still meant a lot to me. anyway, i just love when you can tell someone has a strong sense of personal style. it’s inspiring to me regardless of what their style actually is. so yeah anyway, just wanted to share. i dont feel like writing much at the moment... just scroll and enjoy. please spend sometime on their site.
